Peace in our times

In Syria,

things are rather serious

chemical

and lethal developments

are taking place.

In Mali,

Timbuktu is under siege.

In Somali,

the pirates still reign…

In Sudan,

Iran accumulates missiles.

on transit to Gaza.

Bashar Assad has given up

The district of El-Maza.

In Egypt,

Morsi's chair rocks and shakes

but Obama sends him F16 and

Abrahams tanks…

The bloody Taharir square

in Cairo,

expects a second speech

by Obama

to fulfill the signs

of peace in our times;

or would he send Kerry

The foreign secretary,

To renew the negotiations

of the 93 famous accord,

to end war and conflict

all over the world.

I might have been wrong Crin, but our papers quoted Obama's speech, in which he said these words that are by the way the same words Lord Chemberline said in 1938 just before World War II.

Obama might have used the same words Chamberline used, however I don't think that Obama is a dreamer or a dropped out from Space, as Chamberline was...

Besides, with all the nuts with power in the world, I don't think that anyone measures up to Hitler...

So, there is hope, although we are not going to have peace in the real sense of the word...

Frankly, I don't think they will change. Or if the will change, we would not like them anyway...

The problem though is with us. We are getting old, the change makes us uncomfortable, and maybe we have to remember how it was when we changed the order from under the earlier generations...

Maybe if we can have Peace in our Children's time we will have done some good. Man needs to stop fighting and killing and start concentrating on how best to survive without more of the world starving or dying of illnesses that should be easily handled in peace time. We should respect one another's right to worship differently than we do, that seems to be the key to peace, that and ensuring all people have equal rights and benefits under whatever Government they elect. By that I mean women of course who should have the right to an education rather than be made to live in a backward society that treats them as property.
Maybe it's time for the One World Government that everyone seems to fear, where at least the same rules apply everywhere.

Which is like saying that the East does not believe in this nor any undemocratic country Haim. Are we all living in a Utopian pipe dream here or is there any hope that the East will have some countries devoted to the same aims, democratic or not?

All this sounds a lot like the prophesy at Daniel 11:40-45 except that I do not see "the king of the north". The U.S. fits the description of "the king of the south".

Every generation, men have yearned for peace.....and yet, it has not happened. If only we had gotten it "right" at the Paris Peace Conference after WW!, the mideast would not be exploding.
